China - Nantong University

NTU is a comprehensive university established by People's Public, Jiangsu and Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China. NTU was established on 2004 with the amalgamation of Nantong Medical College, Nantong Institute of Technology and Nantong Teachers College. The predecessors of Nantong Medical College, Nantong Institute of Technology were private Medical Institute of Nantong and Nantong Textile Institute respectively. They were established by Zhangjian in 1912, who was a famous entrepreneur and educator in modern history.

NTU was one of the first batches of universities, which was approved to confer master's degree by the State Council, and was also a university which gets excellent in the undergraduate teaching appraisal granted by Ministry of Education. In 2003, NTU was approved to train doctors jointly. In 2009, NTU was established as a constructing unit for conferring doctor's degree.

Nantong University is composed of twenty colleges, one financially independent college, one school of international students, one continuing education college, owing an Affiliated Level Ⅲ Class A Hospital which has a long history. It offers 80 undergraduate programs in a nine discipline fields, including programs in literature, science, engineering, medical science and so on. It also has four national key discipline, 16 provincial key disciplines and characteristic specialties, and excellent teaching resources such as National level teaching awards, featured courses, featured textbooks, and national experiment teaching. The university presently has 33,000 full-time students, including 1253 students reading for Ph. D degree and Master's degree and 300 international students.

It has 1 Ph. D program and 43 master's programs. The university is also honored with one national key constructing discipline, nearly 20 provincial key disciplines, key medical disciplines and key clinical medicine disciplines, one key lab constructed by province and ministry, one constructing lab, and 6 provincial or ministerial key lab, public service platforms, engineering center and clinical medicine center.

The structure of teaching staff and facilities is reasonable. There are 2000 full-time teachers, over 800 senior title teachers, more than 400 supervisors of PhD and mater, 1 outstanding national middle-aged and young expert who contributes to the country, 35 teachers who enjoy the State Council, special allowances, and 1 distinguished young scholar granted by national science fund, 3 university key teachers supported by the Ministry of Education and new century talents. There are also 6 outstanding national middle-aged and young experts who contribute to the country. Since 2004, the university has undertaken many projects, including national 973 Project, 863 Project, and 110 National Science & Social Research Fund Projects. Over 120 monographs have been published; more than 320 papers have been published in CSSCI, nearly 800 papers have been collected by the retrieval systems such as SCI. The university had gained 33 national patents, and awarded 13 rewards including first grade of provincial technology advancement award.

The university has four campuses now, covering an area of 2700 acreage. The total value of teaching and research facilities is 399,000,000. The amount of books in library is 1,920,000. The kinds of periodicals in Chinese and English are 23,797; databases are 40 which are equipped with disk retrieval system both in English and Chinese. The university is equipped with first grade management center of knowledge named CNKI.

The university is expanding its international academic exchange and cooperation, with many universities and research institutes in Britain, the USA, Germany, Canada, Australia, Japan and Korea. And it also runs joint education program with America, England and Australia.

NTU is an advanced unit for the construction of spiritual civilization, a birthplace of the spirit "Mowensui" which is a good example advocated by the construction of spiritual civilization. It is also a civilized unit in Jangsu province, a civilize university of Jangsu province and also an advanced unit for graduate employment.

Miscellaneous charges to be paid in the university for first year = 2000 - 3000 RMB approx. (Miscellaneous charges includes applications fees, medical examination, books, bedding, damage deposit, registration fees etc)
The total Course duration is 5 + 1 (Internship) = 6 years
Students who want to do their internship in China they should pay the one year tuition fees.
